They are gatekeepers to the tent souls, whom were merely used and abandoned on post-festival wastelands in the shadow of landfill. The most vibrant tent souls snake around their bodies in an infinite cycle of death and re-birth.
This artwork’s journey began eight years ago, when leaving the infamous Glastonbury festival. I discovered, to my horror, thousands of tents abandoned and strewn like the aftermath of a cyclone over the site.
I collected around 500 tents, experimenting extensively with the difficult fabric. With each strip painstakingly pleated by hand, the garments have been woven with the utmost care and in-tent.
